About the Event
St Mary Magdalen's church
The Saxon/Norman church of St Mary Magdalene, standing above the cross and in front of the site of the ancient Royal Palace of Geddington, is unique for many reasons. Christian worship began sometime in the eighth century, and at least a dozen Kings and Queens of England visited and worshipped in this little village. Called ‘The Most Interesting Parish Church in England’ by several authorities, it is filled with twelve centuries of the past, yet is still a key part of the community, with regular services all week, and many community events and festivals.
You can arrange one of our church tours which have received rave reviews from national and regional media. The church is so rich is physical examples of different eras of history, that tours have been designed with specific periods, for children, for the disabled, for the experts and for those who know little of British history at all. Receiving five star ratings on TripAdvisor and thousands of accolades, our tours make twelve centuries of history come alive.
Individual, small or even large group tours can be arranged by request - contact us to discuss.
